ACASI Module

In an Audio Computer Assisted Self Interview (ACASI) interview, respondents record answers directly into the computer using a mouse, touchscreen, or keyboard. Optionally, a computer voice or recorded human voice can be used to read questions and responses aloud as they are displayed on the screen. For computer security, it is possible to add an Exit password and/or lock the keyboard to restrict participant access to the rest of the computer. See ACASI: Operations.

ACASI Control Files

Before collecting data using the ACASI Module, you need to build a ACASI Control File (*.QSI) to administer ACASI. Interviewing staff do not need access to the Design Studio to conduct interviews. See Building an ACASI Control File.

ACASI control files have the file extension .QSI and are type QDS Self- Interview Control file.
